The Original Bowen Technique

What is The Bowen Technique?

The Original Bowen Technique is the purest form of Bowen Therapy created by Mr. Tom Bowen in Geelong Australia beginning in 1958 until his death in 1983. During the latter years, Oswald "Ossie" Rentsch met Mr. Bowen and served as his protege' methodically chronocaling every procedure with Mr. Bowen's approval. Upon Mr. Bowen's death, Ossie Rentsch founded and currently serves as Director for The Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia and began teaching Registered Bowen Therapists around the world. Body Wisdom Centers', Nathan Martelle, is a Registered Bowen Therapist and graduate of the Australian Academy who studied and completed much of his advanced work directly under Ossie Rentsch.

Bowen Therapy is unique to all bodywork consisting of gentle, yet purposeful, non-invasive "rolling moves" done through light clothing or applied directly on the skin. The Practitioner addresses specific points of the body to communicate with the autonomic nervous system unlocking, resetting, and empowering the body's own resources to heal itself.

A typical session generally lasts about an hour and frequently results in a deep sense of overall relaxation. Bowen Therapy is an effective treatment for the following conditions:
